Brief 2: Unit 14 - Task 2b

.Research your articles.  Use a range of relevant sources, both primary and secondary, and keep a record of these sources.  These might be interviews, your own notes, results of discussions, genre / narrative conventions from other articles etc. Draft and write your two articles by hand and / or on Word.  Keep evidence of drafting and corrections with several different versions of the pieces.
  • For my magazines research, I will be using primary and secondary methods of research; firstly, I have researched secondary research on the internet. However, for my primary research I will possibly create questionnaires, and have formal interviews with students in my class to review the best research about some places for tourists to visit, and I will have two questionnaires, and separates questions for Food places, so I can get research for both attractions and foods.

  • For my first article as London Tourist attractions, I have searched up the key term 'Top London Attractions' and the link below is one of the websites I've chosen. This website has told me some of the top ten places for London attractions, and after acknowledge this and how others categorise whatever they believe is best through amount of popularity, I have gone further into research by searching individual attraction websites. For the first one, I have researched about The London Eye (linked below) and the London eye has a proper website; which tells me everything I need. In this website I have found the prices, and specific location, booking reservations, and what times they are open and closed. This sort of information is very useful for my article, because while people read my article and engage in guessing the weekly location for London tourist attractions, they will understand in depth what I try to portray and what my purpose is, and I would believe I would've successfully completed my purpose for my magazine, by informing, educating and possibly market sponsoring (this depends on the place, and how popular my magazine gets, because if it's popular I would ask certain areas if they want our company to talk about their stores and we'll arrange a sponsorship, but for I will be just doing it for tourists), and by doing this I can successfully help new London tourists, to enjoy their time in London, and ensure they visit some of the best attractions in London while they're here, but not just inform them, but too actually make them feel more comfortable, and make it easier for them as a whole to research for places to visit.

    For my second article as London Foods, I have searched up specific keywords which relate to east London, but central London as whole. I have searched for Top London Foods & East London chicken and chip shops. The website which I've chosen, as it's one of the first and tells me up to the top 10 websites for London foods is pasted as a hyperlink below, and in this specific website, it annotates some of the best & top foods in London ranging from 1 to 10, and this helps me analysis which foods I may also suggest to tourists to try out, because of how much publicity the food type has and how popular it is - whether it's a traditional food, which everyone should try OR has to try. However, it only suggest the type of foods and then some have videos or pictures, this is useful to see what others believe and think about London foods, and what they'd give as top 10, but I did some more in depth research for specific websites, so people can go to the exact location and food store, by me either linking them to the website or as I will be doing, speaking about the place and then telling everyone who reads the article, that they can actually visit the place by searching the address or I will implement a Google maps type of thing, and this is done through embedding a code. This website which I have found, tells me everything specifically I need about certain foods, and the restaurants to go to and where it is located (linked below).

    Overall,  my secondary research has helped analysis specifically what different key features & characteristics I want to actually talk about in my article;
    I want to talk about a Specific attraction/food store for both articles, and then give people information - a review; what it is, is it good etc. then link them back to a website they can follow up on more, if they're really interested from my article. Then I will also tell them information such as the pricing of the London attractions & specific food restaurants - give them reviews, and then give them times too so they know when to go and what times are best for them, while they also acknowledge the times too, but while doing all of this reading and researching, I will use photographs to more it more engaging and my game will also make it more engaging too, but my overall point of my article is to make it brief and easy for new tourists and show them how to really have a great time in London, just by visiting these specific places. These websites give me all the information and the type of information which is generally needed to make an effective website which talks about tourists, and from this I can take similar methods and implement into my own, and draw my inspiration from my research, alone from these websites. I am also looking for like places to go to so I can take pictures, and then use for my guessing game on my article, and this website address the top 10 tourists attractions, which I can use and will have a better understand for what people know best  and therefore, what attraction is best to use weekly for tourists.

    Both articles will use same methods amongst each other, and will follow the same steps.

    Primary Research

    For my Primary research I did a few interviews with some of my class mates, and I asked them questions such as; 'What are the top tourist attractions place you can think of in London?'
    'What are some of the best resatuarants you known in London?'
    'Whats a famous food in east London?'
    'Where is the best chicken/fish & chips place?'

    My finalised question is;
    'What are some of the best tourist attractions you know in London?'
    And the second one is
    'What is your favourite chicken shop & why?
    and then
    'Which is most popular; London eye, Trafalgar square or the British museum?'
    and finally,
    'What is better(your favour); chicken & chips or fish & chips?'

    I also took pictures and screenshots for things  would use in my article, for example the tourist places and their prices, food places, and their menu or prices and the locations.

    This screenshot represents the information of prices I  want to include in my own; this shows the tickets prices, and I will be grabbing this information to inform users of London eye prices & the second screenshot is to show the dates & timing for bookings.

    This screenshot is to refer to the website so I can find the best top 10 food attractions and the second screenshot is basically the same but for food. This will help me find places to talk about, and then go further into websites for what I can then research on and find information for, and inform my readers. The third screenshot shows how I've used the website, and it's given me another website for all different food cuisines for London, and shows me restaurants, and breaks down everything for me; from reviews & food type and prices etc.
