Freelance, permanant, volunteer jobs

Explain what a...

1. Freelance, permanent and volunteering job in the media industry is?

Freelance job is is working on a contract basis for a variety of companies. Freelance media jobs have a very big advantage because working as a freelancer you don't necessarily work from straight 9 - 5 and you're stuck at the same desk day in, day out. In the media industry you would get given different projects to complete possibly rather then being on staff full time. You're generally responsible for your own arrangements; pensions, holiday, sick pay and other allowances.

Permanent job would be you working a consent 9 - 5 (hour action) and you wouldn't have that freedom as a freelancer would due to your contract leaving you entitled to the companies pensions, sick pay, maternity/paternity leave and holiday pay, but you're a regular member of staff.

Volunteering job would be the where the company would be looking for people to come forward to volunteer for a job to help out the company and possibly get a good reference  letter, proving you have had experience in the media industry. Generally a volunteering job is something you choose to do and don't get paid, you choose to help out the company for certain reason.
