Digital publishing product
Digital publishing is the announcement of different digital sectors;
magazines, e-books and digital catalogues, on the online internet rather than
paper based. However, this can be used to distribute books or newspapers over
the online community; a method to read online electronically.
An e-magazine is an online
magazine (Electronic magazine), this is where you can publish a magazine on the
internet for everyone to access. This is very effective as over billions of
people use the internet and a lot use it for the interactivity of media posts;
e-magazines, newspapers etc.
Although, digital publishing talks about e books and
catalogues and magazines, I will be focusing on the publication of e-magazines
as my chosen ‘product. I’ve chosen e-magazines as I feel most comfortable with
addressing it, as this is a very popular publication and I’ve used it before,
whereas e-books and digital catalogues I’ve never really approached. However, the main reason is to develop and
create three ideas for this digital product (e-magazine) and creating a
successful e-magazine which may represent genres such as fitness, lifestyle,
gaming or music but, for my e-magazine my first chosen genre will be gaming.
Before presenting my ideas, I will need to plan and prepare
my ‘ideas’ for this digital media product. I will need to choose the correct
and appropriate target audience. For this I will need to have a purpose for my
publication of this digital product; will I need to inform, educate or entertain?
I will be presenting my idea to teachers and possibly family members/peers to receive
feedback based upon my verbal, written and visual communication skills. After receiving
this feedback, I should be able to determine my final idea of choice. This will
then allow me to make sure the platform I choose for publishing is the best
area for my e-magazine.
