Unit 2 - My Three Ideas.
Initial Idea - Gaming:

For my magazine I will be creating it based off the gaming genre. This is because I'm very intrigued by gaming and find that certain magazines can be very helpful to the gaming community; whether it's ranged from a target audience of 12 to 20+. If the magazine is beneficial and follows my criteria, than I will find it as successful.

The purpose I want to create this gaming magazine to build on the interactivity of the different gaming communities; I will base my magazine mainly on the new, popular game called ' Fortnite', this is because since it's very new I want to create bigger connectivity and interactivity with more Fortnite based gamers. This magazine will help them become better in Fortnite by using tips & tricks, tell them new updates features and Fortnite facts (other stuff will be included too but after more update within the actual game), since these are very demanded as well needed for the new players.

However, the target audience is based at 12-20+ because this is a very popular game to the younger audience but it exceeds to the older too, since it contains strategy and since it's a game based off Minecraft and day-z combined. This target audience will be a niche audience since I'm mainly directing this magazine to Fortnite gamers and it's based so I can help new Fortnite gamers. This range of target audience are very fond of games and majority are invested into the gaming industry around the certain ages. With Fortnite, it has it's own servers and is free off charge meaning, PS4, XBOX1 & Computer players (Microsoft, windows, Sony & mac) can all connect and play together, especially since it's free too (hence why the major popularity it has received lately) & what makes it even more better is that it's not just free in purchasing the game, you don't even need to buy consoles gold to get online (ps4 online or Xbox gold), all you do is download and start playing!

For my Fortnite gaming magazine the platforms, I will be trying to distribute, advertise & publish on would be cross linked between social media (digital online publishing) and if successful, I will try to start selling it in big branded stores such as Tesco or ASDA. I will advertise my magazine on my YouTube channel and share it across other social media platforms such as; twitter, Facebook & snap chat. I will also try to possibly get a partnership with Epic games (developers of Fortnite), to distribute and have a bigger market income upon my Fortnite magazine. Reasons I have chosen to share my magazine across these platforms is because I believe they are they best to share my gaming magazine. Gamers are very often found using these specific social media websites but, these websites are very popular and can possibly help me advertise my magazine even further.

Second Idea - Music:

For my second magazine, It will be based around the genre of music and I will be creating it off a popular music artist. I have chosen this as my second idea because I believe this is something I'm compatible with making and I'm very interested with pop music and the different musicians styles of vocals. This magazine may also interest other people who enjoy music too, and depending on the artist I choose, I could write some facts about them which could also interest other fans too and make them want to purchase the magazine. If I do get sales or views on the music magazine, I will believe that the magazine has been successful, dependent on the amount of; sales or views (if it's published as an e-magazine too).Music is listened by everyone, everywhere; on the bus, on the plane, in school/work, at home or even while you're just walking down the street.

However, the main purpose of my music magazine is; so I can write up about different musical artists, some facts about their past or their current situations; albums released and write up some personal opinions about the new album (nothing which is considered as slander). I'm hoping I can also create connectivity with other people who are interested in music too or fans of the same artists and eventually build upon the music community; whether that's through online social media or from possibly groups in real life. For example, if someone buys the same magazine, as another person, they may both realise and start communicating their opinions and possibly become friends, because of the magazine. Although, this is one of my main purposes it doesn't mean my poster will only revolve around the singing aspect, I will also talk about artists styles of clothing or dance and how they portray this type of skill through their music too or things about their daily life too. I believe this would be very successful because the musical industry is very large but, when it actually comes to knowing facts about peoples favourite artist it may be difficult because they're not really into researching or actually haven't tried. They just throw on the music, sit back and relax but, with the magazine they will be interested by the cover as I will use graphic techniques to make it eye catchy and therefore, they can learn about their favourite artists; WHILE, sitting back and relaxing.

The target audience for my music magazine shouldn't really be set at a main audience because music is shared across everyone, and everyone is allowed to listen to their type of music. However, with my music magazine it will be about POP music and this sector of music is generally listened by teenagers and up (around about the ages of 15 - 28). But, as said before everyone is allowed to listen to music so it could be shared across all ages and possibly starting at even the age of 6. Although, this is the target audience for listening to this style of music, my magazine offers not only style of music, it also talks about facts and lifestyle features of different artists and also possibly fashion, as it would talk about the style of clothes artists use from day to day life, compared with their actual music videos. Therefore, this type of magazine will mainly be aimed at teenagers from around about 15 because most are interested about artists lifestyles, as well as their music too.

For my music magazine, I will be publishing, distributing and advertising it across the different platforms from social media websites such as YouTube as an ad or share a website link of the e-magazine version on Facebook or twitter or also snapchat. These places are filled with billions of people and especially teenagers, who love music or just in reality anyone who loves music. This will be a good place to share my magazine across because of the amount of people who surf these type of platforms from a day to day basis. However, I will also be hoping to be distributing my magazine across to big branded stores like ASDA in the UK or in the US Walmart and I want to globally share my magazine to create a bigger market income and create awareness for it and hope to make it a successful magazine. I would also share it across music websites and music stores, I will also try to share it across music forums or other websites which try to talk about artists too.
Final idea - Religion

For my final idea, I have chosen the genre of 'Religion', this is because I believe that I want to sell a magazine which talks about specific religion and write tips and what to do for that specific religion in the magazine. However, the magazine will not also just talk about religion and what's bad or wrong, it will also talk about how other religions may have similarities and possibly a way to tell people not to judge one another for their 'religion' as well. This could be apart of a campaign too but not mainly aimed at this. But, I want people who are interested in the specific religion to be interested in learning new things about it from the magazine and as said before follow the tips/tricks, to become better in this religion. I want to base it off Islam because I don't see no Islamic magazine and if there is one, it's not very popular and this probably by the demand of the public or just the fact people don't want 'Islam' shared across their country but, I want to change this and let people learn.

My main purpose is to influence people to follow after their religion and this magazine will be based upon 'Islam', it will teach new people how to follow the religion and what to do and what not to do. I will also try to make it so people be less racist to the religion and let them understand not all 'Muslims' are actually what the media portray. I will provide stories of the religion and basically make it like a weekly book series to not only new people but also young audiences who are learning (anyone learning to be honest). I will write up facts and my opinions on things about how people feel about Islam and I will do like cultural writings each magazine.

There's no set target audience because this magazine is just to teach everyone about the religion, however, it can vary from age range because some may be like political parts within the magazine and others are just facts and stories to educate young audience aged from around about 5+. Overall, I think, I'll set the target audience at around about 10+ because it follows both criteria for pretty much all range and for example, a parent can buy it and read one page to their child every week and the rest they can read for themselves.

I will share it across Islamic websites and forums for people to read online for a minimum charge of £2 but, I will also try to share this across stores such as Islamic stores, or also big branded stores; ASDA, Tesco etc. I want to just share it to everyone, everywhere and make the poster popular and try to keep it up in charts and let people enjoy it like they enjoy health magazines etc.
