- Upon completion of your analysis into the technical elements of digital graphics, you are to write a report on the purpose of each when communicating to their audiences. You are too address the client brief, context of the product, its target audience, what it is marketing or selling and how this message is being communicated. The following messages and meanings are to be addressed
- Mood and atmosphere, e.g. urban, traditional, reliable, cutting edge, dynamic
- Genre, e.g. horror, romance, comedy
- Ideology: values, e.g. political, religious or personal ideology, corporate values
- Brand identity, e.g. humorous, formal, classic, youthful.
How is this
achieved through the use of;
- composition
- point of focus
- colour
- proportion
- basic semiotics
- typography
- shape

For the poster, the mood and atmosphere are like sad and emotional, the genre is like and this is represented through the use of technical language; compositions, point of focus, colour, scale, proportion, basic semiotics, typography, lettering, shape and legibility. The purpose of the point of focus used during this poster is to make audiences to see what the campaign host/poster designer is trying to portray through their images. This directs our point of focus on the main topic and not lose our attention on anything else, keeping our eyes on the children in problems so we feel the sad mood and feel upset for the children in poverty, and convince us that we can help and donate. The target audiences aim is set to like teenagers+ but pretty much adults and anyone who can help these people who care. If you have money you can donate, you can help. If you have internet and a pc or mobile device, you can help by sharing their poster across to others, if u can't physically donate. It's message and marketing idea to sell is gain awareness for the issue how media portray Muslims and they're trying to help the people who are suffering in the countries because media causes less attraction for them and they're idea is to try raise money and more awareness for issue and try help children suffering. It's an event to talk about the misreportation of Muslims portrayed as 'terrorists' from media and the event is to also address the people forgotten in Rohingya, and this event will help them sell their idea and create more awareness and gain more donations. The brand identity and for this poster is youthful and religious because it's an Islamic charity and it's also trying to raise awareness for the misreportation of Muslims and gain awareness for the children suffering in other countries too.
The genre for this poster is like political but there's not much genre, it's more ideology because it addresses the values for Muslims and children suffering; it talks about religious aspects and how we as an community can come to this event and raise awareness and help those who are suffering.

The purpose of composition used for each images in this poster are set directly so it fits point of focus, as it also is a big key to represent mood and atmosphere. The children are placed on the left hand side and they're bigger than other key features such as the typography, the composition is placed like this because it wants people to see everything on the screen too and make sure it's spaced out. Like this we can see the background which the houses are broken down and many kids have dirt on them and they're crying, the baby with no clothes and a young girl is carrying him/her. Composition allows us to see this clearly, without like having the composition of typography covering it and this represents how they try portray mood and atmosphere through composition. The composition of typography is set clearing above the images but it's not set so big that you cannot see that background and lose the audiences point of focus and then try to change the mood and atmosphere, they've set it so we don't lose this mind set of being sad or feeling sorry for the children.

The purpose of colour used in this poster is set to fit the mood and atmospheres tone; dark and dull colours to represent the images in the poster. Colours of dark-green, brown & black have been used as these a good uses to create affection for posters which are trying to look like people are suffering, as they connote death, sadness, nature or destruction. And, they used this during this poster to try portray this because whenever you'd think of black or dark colours, you would imagine death or something bad. Whereas, bright colours such as red or yellow, would make you think of happy and joyful acts and create your brain to become more open to a good mood and create this fun atmosphere. These colours do opposite and keeps the mood and atmosphere sad and dull, to create this effective campaign and make the people feel sorry for those children suffering.

The typography used in this poster is aligned with set coordination of images, with an appropriate proportion of size so it addresses audiences correctly, through it's clear text. The font is the same throughout for the contacts information and timing and is set to a clear, bold, small font placed from the centre towards the left hand side, as this fits this area and doesn't cover the images or anything else covers the font. It's simple for the event time and the web address and this style of font and typography could connote how they're trying to portray the purpose of the mood, being that it's just easy, and simple; anyone can help by donating or sharing the link. They put the font different for the word 'Muslims' and they make it bigger and more stylish, so it stands out to audiences that the problem revolves around children who are Muslims/Muslim countries and they're being attacked because of what the media portrays, but they're not true and the font could connote how the atmosphere is sad and upsetting, that children are suffering because of the false information media portray about Muslims - causing these countries to suffer in more pain, by trying to change peoples mind about them and stop them from donating or caring; they're just children, and no one deserves this - based from religion or not.

The semiotics used in this poster are shown through the logo as it represents Islam through it's holy prayer styled dome, with the symbols of a star and moon on top. These could represent the mood & atmosphere as it speaks out to audiences easily through it's symbols, that it represents Islam, and it's a happy, peaceful setting - trying to help with the problem. The other basic semiotics are the little symbols they place before the text for the event times etc. These are just little symbols to address what the text is saying; the first is the price of the tickets and they place a symbol of a ticket, next is the location status and they place just the location pin point symbol, next is the date and they use a calendar to represent it more and finally, is that they have an open childcare, if they have children but still want to go to the event but have no where to place them, they address it's $10 and they put a symbol of a baby bottle to represent this clearly.
-
The shape is set as a4 size because it's a poster, which would most likely be printed out in this format of A4 or for bigger sizes A3 and then posted everywhere for the public to view or be handed out as leaflets. Pinned up to mosques, shops, building, schools etc. This makes it more visual then it being small and all the information and shapes within the poster are set to good proportion of scale, and most of the shapes used are squares to outline images of people who are also attending the event.

The legibility used within this campaign poster seems clear enough to read and analysis each key technical element within the poster. We can read the headlines, and event timing clearly and we can read what the image within the poster tries to connote and how the colours used within the poster is clear enough to create clear connotation. We can see clearly the style of mood and atmosphere within the poster from the colours, text and image used; this also shows us clearly what the genre & style of ideology is about.

For motion graphics this would also include (in addition to the above):
- sequences of transformations
- pace and timing of motion
- use of audio, sound.
The genre, mood & atmosphere and ideology used throughout the motion graphics video are represented through the key technical elements of timing & rhythm, pace & motion, and the images and audio used in the video. They portray and connote this as they've all been set accordingly to create a perfect motion graphic video to help students and the general public the explanation of human rights, and how and why human rights are important.
-
In this video you can see that the timing & rhythm has been set according to create a story throughout the video; starting with motion graphic of slow intro, with the title of what the video is and then it starts the story in chronological order of trying to explain what 'human rights' are, and it lines out the first steps of what it is and then continues the same format, by addressing it with images too and therefore, this is explained effectively through the audio...
-
The audio being non-diegetic sound as you cannot see the speaker/musician, and it's just a narrator who narrates the whole step by step process; explaining what human rights are and how they're used etc. The way the narrator speaks also addresses the style of motion graphic and address the tone, mood & atmosphere the video is dying to portray. The calm explanation through voice could connote that in the beginning the mood & atmosphere are calming and mysterious but as the story goes on, you can hear a change in sound where's the diegetic sound of for example, when the animated Hitler speaks with anger - representing his way and the narrator changes his voice tone, and music changes too. This would connote that the mood & atmosphere changes during the motion graphic, and it could connote it becoming scary and serious. This would also represent
The sequences of transformations
What needs to be learnt For web-design graphics this would also include (in addition to the above):
- navigation
- use of grid (structure)
- interactivity: dynamic or static content
- Use of imagery.
They present web design graphics through the use of features such as navigation, use of grid, interactivity and use of imagery; which portrays the style of genre, mood & atmosphere and the ideology of the website.
In this website they use interactivity by using dynamic content in the websites front cover and they set it with the use of imagery; they place a video and the thumbnail is children suffering in broken houses and they're dirty and crying, but you must click the video to watch it but this is how they make imagery and video appeal towards audience and this sets the mood & atmosphere to be sad and upsetting.
They use navigation through the use of hyperlinks and drop down menus, and a search bar. This allows you to see the genre and ideology of the website, as it makes it easier for audiences to search for the specific need - either through the drop down menu, or search it. This would represent that also from the use of imagery, the genre is like political, as they're trying to change how people look upon Muslims, and help the children and people suffering in broken buildings. However, it could also portray the video to be as 'slice of life' because this dynamic video which doesn't start by itself but we see the thumbnail and play button, shows a video of children crying and how they're dressed and they're addressing the issue of how they're living and they don't like it - it represents their daily life style, if we don't help and don't donate now.
Use of grid is used to represent their ideleogy as it portays how they're trying to address the situation and connote that making the video the main point of focus of what audience see first, is the best way of helping them. The structure set out with the main video in the middle and a thick transparent text with the campaign issue in the middle but doesn't cover the main imagery, the contact details at the top, and below that at the top too. There's the search bar and navigation tools and as you scroll down you see more information and good facts how many people they've helped and the people who have contriubuted or upcoming events and etc, all to try help the people.
2A.M3 (Merit) you have explained how messages and meanings are conveyed in three existing examples of graphic design from two different media sectors.
