What were the aims of the brief from your chosen charity / campaign, and did you achieve them?
The aims of the brief for my charity was to raise awareness for cyber bullying and help people who are afraid of telling someone that they're experiencing bullying and that their not alone and, they shouldn't have to fight alone. They can call BullyingUk and they'll help. And we'd do this by creating the video showing someone experiencing cyber bullying, and thought he could get away but in the end it happens again, so he rings up bullyingUK and he gets the help he needs. I feel we achieved this because we follow our structure and came out with a well constructed video.
What were your original ideas and how did these develop throughout the project?
Our original ideas was similar aspects but locations change and scenery changed too. We had it to be in the street of the college, sitting alone on the bench but we decided to change it due to too many people being in the street and constant disturbance. We kept the time-lapse, but we originally decided to do a title sequence over the time lapse but instead, we imported a voice over and then a sudden drop to the title intro. We changed some of the shots to make it more effective, we added the after effects of text messages and we had back to back shots, over shoulder shots etc. We originally had it set to just one shoulder shot and then back to front, where speech bubbles would pop up with the texts. Also, at the end we planned it to be that another character (his mother) came in and questioned if he was okay, we decided to change that because we felt it wasn't relevant anymore, and lack of actors.
How well did you plan out your short film? Evaluate strengths and weaknesses
I believe we planned it good as a team, and coming up with the script and storyboard really helped us in creating the video successfully. The strengths were that we had set planned of how we will do everything and we followed majority of our plant. However, the weaknesses was that we changed and started to see errors while creating our video but along the way we changed things but overall, it came out successful.
What were the strengths and weaknesses during filming?
The strengths during filming we had good shots and used our equipment well; to perfection.
The weaknesses was that took long to film and we went a little over time, plus we had to film more than once because of mistakes, laughs, people walking past etc.
Which editing skills did you develop and how could you improve in this area?
The editing skills I developed was how to use premiere pro successfully, implementing videos together and adding transitions. Doing titles and fading out music and videos to create affection. I developed how to import other effects into premiere pro, like with the after effects Mahir created, we developed understanding how to import it and edit it successfully. We also had editing skills to make it look more of an movie by creating black borders and making the resolution to follow 1280 x 720. We could have improved the music, by lowering it because it was a bit too loud and we could have faded out some of the music more. Some minor edits could've made the movie better - fade outs, transitions, sounding etc.
Audience Feedback
For our movie we received audience feedback from our classmates. Their feedback consisted of good and bad. The good feedback received was that the editing was very good and the acting was good too; this made the film very enjoyable. The bad feedback was that the music level grew very loud during the video and if we'd improve this, the video would be pretty much perfect, as we never received any other bad feedback.

A decent evaluation Nasir and you consider how you met the brief and purpose. You could be a little clearer on choices made, and you need to include audience feedback. Vanessa
ReplyDeleteI added audience feedback but I'm not sure what you mean by "be a little clearer on choices made", so I have not changed anything else.
