Unit 2 - Learning Aim C Planning Portfolio
Planning Portfolio
For my magazines portfolio I will being chronologically ordering steps of my magazines of what's included & how it will be done; the digital publishing - screen shots, assets sources, test shots, prop/costume list, shot list, styles, templates and formats of my magazine. To provide evidence upon my work of my magazine I will be making page mock ups of the steps I do, this will be completed through screenshots.

Brief (proposal/treatment)
Firstly, what I will be analysing for my planning portfolio is the asset sources my e-magazine version will be using. The asset sources will use embedded codes of videos & I will also apply hyperlinks too, (gameplays, tutorials etc) and to ensure non copyrighted material, I will be asking for permission and I will offer them that, this is method of shouting them out. However, if I'm not granted permission or they ask for partnership (in sense of payment) we will offer them a shout out, but if they do not agree, then I will be posting my own versions of videos because I play the game too and I have the equipment and experience, to edit and construct similar videos. If they agree, I will ensure not to slander them in any way and only will be spreading positive actions; grabbing the embedded videos - it will be short tutorial videos, or funny videos too and images of things such as the best computer for Fortnite, the best equipment for gaming, & reasons why I will be wanting to be posting images of professional players winning 'victory royales', is to make audiences and people who are not so great at the game become intrigued into falling into my magazines method of help, because when you'll see victory royales on the front page, it will have bright coloured, big & bold lettering telling audiences a rhetorical question such as; 'DO YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW TO GET VICTORY ROYALES? PURCHASE (magazine name) TODAY'. This will draw audiences in more, especially since the typography of the title is visual, colourful and bold, which appeals to every audience and mostly children. However, for the first release of the magazine, I will be giving a discount so this will also intrigue more audiences. I will include all the following key points; name/contacts, chronology/dates, Cost, Minutes of meetings, Contingency plans, Revisions and decisions, Annotation and labelling, Hyper links and Risk assessments for health and safety.

Names/contacts (crew/actors)
The contact information for the people who will be included in the magazine is myself; Nasir Farooq, as I will be taking pictures of people playing the game and I will take pictures of the best computers to use, and this will be edited on Photoshop before publishing. The people who I may take pictures of would be my friend Sezgin Dereli and I will have his full permission before taking any pictures of him playing the game. The rest of mine and his details such as phone numbers, birth & address is not needed for the magazine, but myself will keep track of the information if I need to contact him for any specific reasons. Another participant which may offer to act too & help, is my other friends, Eren , Jimmy, Casey, but I will just get screenshots of them winning games just so I can apply this later on through in the magazine covers. The other and final people which will be needed is my teacher at my college & the media staff... this is because the media staff members such as 'Tom', who will allow me to book out cameras to use, and my teacher, Scott, will allow me to take my photographs in the photography room and will also allow me to use the computers in the Mac room or the normal class room, to use Photoshop to edit my magazine. I'm wholesomely making my magazine production myself (graphic design, editing, etc.), but I will possibly taking pictures of good gaming equipment to use such as gaming mouse's, & keyboards for the computer, and I will screenshot some useful quick key binds for building and I will do this through screenshotting my own and then changing it to other ones and screenshot again.
Chronology/dates (production schedules)
For each of the steps of the production of my magazine from getting screenshots, taking pictures & editing the magazine, I have calculated an estimated time of how long it would take for everything to be complete and it would be roughly more than a week, because for each step of getting the screenshots, and names & contacts, taking pictures, organising everything, and then finally editing the magazine for prototype and then I will upload it as e-magazine and I will make a paper copy too, and this all together will take hours to create. The starting dates will be from 21/05/2018 on wards and I'm hoping that on Monday I can start with getting the screenshots & but I will need to permissions from my friends through talent release forms to ensure no copyright or legal accusations take place, and this could take a lot of time because I must print each form, and ensure each model agrees and signs. Therefore, it would lead onto Tuesday and If I have booked out the camera I will take pictures of my friend playing the game, and a picture of a good computer and with these pictures I will annotate the specs of the pc and how to do this and that, what is it good for & why. Wednesday, I will need to get all the information of names and contacts. Thursday, get the room and area for booking and getting the permission to edit in specific times etc. Friday, hopefully start uploading the images and start editing the magazine, but the magazine will take more than 48 hours to edit totally, but as a prototype I will be only working firstly on the front page for starters, and then after feedback I will know what colours and everything is best, and I will continue editing the rest; through getting information from epic games too of the new skins coming, updates & what's up in the new Season 4 Battle pass etc. Before starting to take pictures
Cost (budget)
The cost will not be a big problem because majority of the equipment I will be using will take In the college grounds, and if not, I will be able to finish editing at home or my local library, and for this I have the library card so I can successfully complete work without any problem. However, in college for my prototype, I will need to use printing credit of my own, which will probably put the only cost to around £3.00, just for me to print all documents such as talent release forms and then the actual magazine itself (as a prototype) and than alternatively, for the e-magazine it make take some pricing to publish it online to the internet, and to get this I'd need to purchase my own Domain which is roughly around about £50 a month, or higher (depending on the sort of contract you buy), but to go further, I would need to pay the models which is roughly £100 per person, giving me a total sum of £553, but this would increase over time dependent from the websites domain. However, with the cameras this will be free, because I can book out the colleges cameras for roughly a week, and if I need external time, I have my own professional Cannon camera too. Locations such as editing suite, college class room (for equipment & editing) will all be free, under the permission of the teacher in that location at the time. There would also be refreshments after every meeting, which will consist of cakes and coffee/tea for each crew and member to enjoy, which would roughly also cost £30 per refreshment selection each week, because I can buy the two variations of cakes from Costco, and the selection of tea and coffee would last more than a month. The total budget would be £600, but we aim to only use £583 and save the rest for any extras.

Minutes of meetings
For the minutes of meetings, I will have a meeting with all the members of the crew involved, and they will have a set date per meeting and it will always take place on the Weekend, where everyone is free roughly starting at 10:30am, and in these meetings we would discuss the pros of the magazines publish-meant this week, and we will have talks of what we can improve, what to remove, how to extend our magazine etc. I will receive all information from the board room of the meeting and we will brainstorm ideas on a board, and we will show statistics of improvements of the magazine - how many more views, interactivity, comments left on website. Each week I would have produced a minutes of meeting sheet for all the members to use, and so they know what next meeting is about - however, I can also just simply email them for any other errors of the meeting or if the dates have to change etc. However, with my model I will make sure he meets at the location at the correct time
-For specific shots of models, and screenshots of best computers & Victory Royale Wins, these may all change because I may decide to change the model depending on the outcome of the pictures, and then I will create a prototype to see if this idea will work, otherwise, I will receive the feedback from the prototype, and I will be changing the pictures used of models & screenshots, to fit the audiences feedback. So, my alternative idea would to be change the model into photographs of professional Fortnite players such as Ninja, Myth, Daequan etc. And, than I would put more update features instead of screenshots of 'Victory Royales', so people get more intrigued into what's coming to Fortnite etc. To make the prototype more interesting and interactive, I will be using a QR code on the magazine front cover saying there's a code which will allow you to have a free online copy, by importing a code etc. And additional features such as;

Revisions and decisions
The photographs I've taken, and spoken about to complete, is the I've decided to officially use and publish for editing on my magazine. The screenshots of my victory royales, screenshots of pro players playing fortnite, the hyperlinks which will be used; referring back to the assets & sources too. I've chosen the specific computers which are best for gaming, and to give you the best experiences, and I've chosen all the specific specs which will be annotated with the computers too, and the best equipment such as keyboards and mouse's etc. I have decided on how I'm going to construct my magazine chronologically through having the specific dates chosen weekly for each new magazine; each day will be set the same, for updates, editing, reviews, meetings and etc. But, this all comes back to Fortnite because they control the updates, but every Tuesday we will start straight away with the new released challenges for the battle pass game mode, and I've constructed how each new page layout will look, for example, next Tuesday they say you must 'open 7 chests in titled towers', my magazine will have already written this down and it will give the best top ways to open the chests.
And, I've decided on this already before the new challenges have been released.

Annotation and labelling, e.g. on shots, sketches, photos, scripts

Hyperlinks
The hyperlinks which would be used in my magazine, will always refer back to Fortnite related videos on YouTube, and after talking about the best computers to use for Fortnite, I would have embedded hyperlinks on the pictures published on the website and as people hover over it will give them the option to redirect and open the specific webpage for the computer spoken about each week. Hyperlinks to all contact information will be applied and embedded on the website too, so as you hover over it popups with a link, which informs users that they can click the image to be redirected to the social media/contact/external website page. All hyperlinks will be applied to contacts of the members involved too, so they can be known for their work too because we want people to know that the people who are involved and helped create the magazine, get some sort of awareness too; and that's done through hyperlinking to videos they've created or on their images, it will link to their social media page in the writing too.
Hyperlinks such as:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAW-NpUFkMyCNrvRSSGIvDQ
https://www.twitch.tv/ninja
etc.

Risk assessments for health and safety
The risk assessments for health safety will only be during the photography process in the T.V studio, and photography room there should be no cables lying around on the floor, should be clear and the electrical equipment should be kept in perfect condition, meaning no cuts in any wires or if there's any problems with the lighting equipment, it shouldn't be used. No food & drink should be in the room or consumed during photographs, or in the editing suites - next to any electronics or the computers, to stop any injury to take place if water was split on the equipment, or to leave the locations dirty.
Annotation and labelling, e.g. on shots, sketches, photos, scripts
In this screenshot, it's the new waiting lobby for all your friends to join, and in this screenshot you can see how the new skins and how the background looks; they skins ranges from default on MayGodHaveMercy, to my Skin being the old Tier 100 skin for last battle pass, but this will show the development into the newer battle pass skins, and it shows how I will implement new skins and characters from old n new battle passes into my magazine. Next, is my friend Jimmy, who renamed him self to the South Korea Leader ' Kim-Jong-Un', this shows that you can change your gamer tag and in my magazine I will be putting a step by step tutorial which pictures on how to by going to the Epicgames website etc. Next, is my friend Casey who also changed his name, and his skin is the new daily item shop skin; this is where daily there's new skins which you can purchase to customise your own character, and to do this you need to have a specific amount of Vbucks- you can get bucks through purchasing them with your credit card. This shows that for my magazine I will be showing how to buy vbucks too, and the daily skins in the item shop and what's next for the new battle pass.
However, with the information on how to change your name and buy vbucks, I will not be influencing anyone to rename to anything bad, and I will not be influencing/teaching people to steal credit cards to buy vbucks; I'm only just showing them for educational purposes, and I will ensure to tell them that they should get help from a parent first.
On the left hand side, it shows each season, and what your stats are during that season, and for season 4 my stats at level 29, and your emblem changes when you grow in levels, and since I've purchased Battle pass, I have the battle pass tiers (levels) too, which allow me to get new skins and emotes when I tier up to the specific tier, and in the image you can see I'm tier 23. Below it shows the daily challenges, which is for everyone, but with battle pass you get more challenges than the people with free tiers, which this allows you to tier up more through completing more challenges.
In this image, it shows me and my squad winning the game; meaning through 100 of other players, and all fight to win, and we we're the winners and you can see in this screenshot we're dancing, and I'm doing on of the dances, my friend Casey is doing a dance, but you can't see these because it's a still image. You can tell we won because there's only 4 people alive left on the side and it shows how many kills you've got and that game I got 4 kills, but directly in the middle it shows the win logo '"1 Victory Royale!", which is only shown when all other plays are dead, and only you or your squad is still alive; meaning you've won. Also, in this picture you can see the Map, showing where the ring was and what area it is, and if you click V you can see the match stats, which bring up the stats for you during that game; how many kills, how many assists, how much damage done to players etc.
On the top left corner you can see the players alive, and how much shield and health they have remaining, on your own screens it will also show up at the bottom and to the left too, but on the left it shows up for everyone in your squad. -
This screenshot in another screenshot of me and my two friends winning the game, but in this game I clutched it and got the most kills. You can see this from the amount of kills on the side, and the fact that my two friends were down on the ground, ready for getting revived, and in the top left corner you can see the health bars, which red slowly goes down until you fully die, and when it's red it means you can get revived even though your down. This screenshot will just show audiences, how you can get a lot of kills, and when you're team mates are down how you can still clutch and win the game for all your squad members. I would import screenshots such as these on pages within the magazine and they'll just go into further detail on how to win those clutches, get a lot of kills, and win the #1 victory royale.
This image is a rough sketch of what my magazine's front cover is going to look like, and in my front cover you can see in the top corners, it will say tips and tricks, which means the magazine will contain all the new and best tips and tricks for Fortnite upon how to get Victory Royales, how to build, and more. The title will be in the centre just like that, but it will be more professional, with blocked shaped typography, and the same colours, but it will say Magazine at the bottom, and on the sides it will have pictures of the winning screen logo; #1 victory royale, and it will say underneath it 'how to win', so people get more interested and influenced into buying the magazine etc. The Price will be 50% off for the first week, which is 2.50, but the normal price is £5.00, and the way I will be publishing the price on the magazine, it will be as if it's Fortnite's Currency; being the V-buck logo I drew and than the price next to it. In the middle it will contain the new skins released, and the twitch prime ones, and on the sides it will say there's new dance emotes, but they'd have to buy the magazine to find out what it is, and what they're called and the pricing and when it's going to be released etc. And at the bottom it's going to have some information with legal accusations, and it will also say something similar to 'Purchase New Magazine for new exclusive details', and it will also say like this whether if todays price for the magazine is cheap. And for the first weeks it will always say 'NEW Release', in big, bold capital letters, so everyone knows the magazine is new and there might be improvement needed etc.
This picture I took at my friends house, and this is picture of a very good gaming computer setup, you can see the picture of the screen, which is like a 34" monitor, great for gaming with HD quality, and the keyboard is a gaming Mechanical keyboard, which is great because it's easy to press and you don't have to press very hard, you can press lightly and the feeling of the keys are very comfortable. The computer has one the best specs, such as having a 16GB ram, a great processer which is Intel core i7, the graphic card is GTX 1050ti, and the hard drive is 2TB of storage. These are very good because having all these specs, all you to paly the game with the max quality settings, having the best game play with 300+fps, it also allows you to download all the updates with out no storage problem, and it will run smoothly and the quality on the screen will be perfect HD quality, and during the gameplay, movement using the keyboard and mouse is very great because its easy to press and easy to use.

I will be using the crop tool to crop out any material, such as the font, but I will make the font my self, but for this sccreesnshot I will be just briefly showing what I will use.
I will be screenshotting one my victory royales and then I will use the crop tool to crop it out and then use an eraser tool to clean it up.
-
I will be using the text editing feature calling the ARC, and this will create the bend.
I will be using the circle shape tool to create the vbuck logo and the 50% off sign.
This will just show that I'm using the title technique to create the fonts.
I will be using the lasso tool, to cut out specific images, so when I take screesnshots of the new skins I can cut it and then cleanup the background using the wand tool.
I will be using the wand tool, to clean up the background of images and screens I take, because it selects everything around the center of the image, and clears it all.
I will also be using the lasso tool and erasor tool and wand tool for the dance emotes, after taking the screenshtos, and then for all the other tecniques I will be using the free transform so I can resize everything to perfection.
The end product will look something like this on photoshop, but much more professional;
