Unit 9 - Task 4 Evaluation
- Screening and peer feedback on the finished moving image product. Think about particular areas you would like feedback on, such as the purpose; editing styles and techniques; intended meaning / atmosphere; examples from the edit; areas for improvement. This feedback will be video recorded on 20/6/18
- Evaluation of peer assessment and self assessment. Produce an evaluation to include the above feedback as well as your own assessment. Use the following structure:
- The intended purpose and meaning / atmosphere. Did you achieve these?
- Choices made during production
- What worked well, drawing on specific examples from the edit, style and editing techniques. Use feedback as well as your own ideas
- Areas for improvement. Use feedback as well as your own idea; I believe I should have done the voice over better, but from the feedback the only thing the asked to fix was as well "the audio between the conversation wasn't clear from the caller on phone"
- Areas for development
The intended purpose and meaning / atmosphere:
For my evaluation the intended purpose and meaning for my advert is basically to sell the fact that if you are feeling stressed, normally at work and you're getting piled and piled with work to complete, just eat food and not any food... come to Tennessee fried chicken, and you'll no longer be stressed because of how cheap the meal is and how tasty the food is, and overall, you'll just forget about work, so you can enjoy your day. And I believe with the overall result from my advert we achieved our purpose and our intended response.

Choices made during production:
During the production we changed some of the ideas, because we intended to have it at McDonalds, but since they're a big company and filming at the store would be impossible because of the load of people shopping and we physically just couldn't get a McDonalds to film at. However, I decided to choose Tennessee since I live close, and I know them well, so I had permission to film etc., and during all the shots I made sure I grabbed all the correct shots for editing; shot reverse shot, match on, slow motion etc.

What worked well, drawing on specific examples from the edit, style and editing techniques?
What worked well was all the match on action shots, and the different camera angles in the office, and the music went well overall with the product because it portrayed the correct style of an advertisement. The second half was good as well between the editing of shot reverse shot, and over shoulder shot between the chicken shop worker and the customer.

WWW Audience feedback:
From the feedback from the screening, my pairs said the good things of the video was the editing; the quick shots are great, the slow motion works well, good use of match on action and shot reverse shots, and overall, all these editing techniques worked well. The slogan was good in the end, and the message as whole was clear, and the end scenes was funny because of the laughs received from the viewers too.
EBI Audience feedback:
And finally, the only negative thing was that the quality of the seller on the phone call wasn't clear; "the audio between the conversations wasn't clear from the caller on phone".
My Thoughts:
I think the only problem was the audio shot too because I didn't record a voice over due to the time I had, and what I personally didn't like in my opinion, was the end scene of the logo because it wasn't clear and wasn't very efficient. I believe I should have done the voice over better, but from the feedback the only thing the asked to fix was as well "the audio between the conversations wasn't clear from the caller on phone". But, I think my editing and shots was well constructed, and the music fitted very well with the general idea.
Development & Improvement:
Overall, these are the things needed for improvement and development, for how I see it and what feedback was received from the audience. The logo/slogan at the end of the advert, and the audio between the conversations on the phone call.

Quick cuts, slow motion shot, First person
Seems like an ad because of the style; start with office, end with getting food
Good slogan - feeling stressed eat food.
Funny,
